Lucinda Jarrett, 1997. Stripping in Time: a history of erotic dancing.
BBC News. Stripping is art, Norway decides. The Vineyard Gazette - Martha's
Vineyard News. The Full Monty (2000) is an Americanized stage adaptation of the 1997
British film of the identical name, in which a team of unemployed male steelworkers
set alongside one another a strip act at a regional club.
Ladies Night is a New Zealand phase comedy about unemployed male employees who put on a strip show at
a club as a way to elevate some income. The band employs a genre not simply defined,
with main inspiration from plunderphonics, indie pop, lo-fi and digital tunes observed in most of their works (clear in albums French Exit, Who Really Cares, Death of
a Party Girl and Summer's Over), though having on much more trip-hop-like things in other functions (observed
especially in Who Really Cares and Maddie Acid's Purple Hearts Club Band), and in some conditions, much more
mainstream properties linked to gospel, garage household, funk and even jazz (specific to Grapes Upon the Vine).
The band launched its first a few EPs in 2010 and a mixtape in 2012.
It adopted this with its debut album, French Exit, in 2014.
Their second album, Who Really Cares, was introduced in 2016, with
further albums next in 2018 (Death of a Party Girl) and
2023 (Grapes Upon the Vine), together with collaborative albums and
EPs.
